    Background

    Nami is a restless wanderer at heart. The attraction of a new location is often enough to spark a journey—the more exotic and far-flung the destination, the better.

    She has some of the notorious cecaelia pride, this stems from a conviction that they were once part of an enormous empire. Though most evidence has been worn away by time and the waves over thousands of years, cecaelias firmly believe they are descended from powerful ancestors.

    Description

    From the waist up, Nami resembles a human with agile but muscular build. Instead of humanoid legs, she has eight cephalopod tentacles that allows her to move quickly underwater and reasonably on land.

    Special Abilities

    • Agile (Racial) - Agility: During character creation, the species increases a particular attribute (Agility, Smarts, Spirit, Strength, or Vigor) one die type. This increases the Trait’s maximum by one as well.
    • Aquatic (Racial): Native to the water. Cannot drown in oxygenated liquid and moves at full Pace when swimming
    • Dehydration (Racial): Cecaelias must immerse themselves in water (salt or fresh) at least one hour out of every 24. Those who don’t are automatically Fatigued each day until they are Incapacitated. The day after that, they perish.
    • Low Light Vision (Racial): The being ignores penalties for Dim or Dark lighting (but not Pitch Darkness).
    • Reduced Pace (-1) (Racial): For –1 point, reduce Pace by 1 and the running die is a d4 when on land.
    • Spirited (Racial) - Spirit: During character creation, the species increases a particular attribute (Agility, Smarts, Spirit, Strength, or Vigor) one die type. This increases the Trait’s maximum by one as well.
    • Tentacle attack (Racial): Cecaelias have two tentacle attacks that deal str damage. These attacks are non-lethal and have a reach of 1. This extended reach only applies to the cecaelia’s tentacle attacks and not to any other attacks she makes.
    • Tentacle Sense (Racial) - Notice: While swimming and not grappled or grappling, a cecaelia can spread her tentacles wide to form a sensory net around herself.
