    Sharp-tongued and quick-tempered, the Nerin is a weaver of heroic tales (often

    with herself as the hero!). Her short fuse gets her into trouble, but her quick wit and some friends are usually able to get her out again.

    Special Abilities

    • Adaptable (Racial): The race has great variation among its people and cultures. Characters start with a free Novice Edge of their choice (and must meet all the Edge’s Requirements).
    • Agile (Racial) - Agility: During character creation, the species increases a particular attribute (Agility, Smarts, Spirit, Strength, or Vigor) one die type. This increases the Trait’s maximum by one as well.
    • Aquatic (Racial): Native to the water. Cannot drown in oxygenated liquid and moves at full Pace when swimming
    • Dehydration (Racial): Merfolk must immerse themselves in water (salt or fresh) at least one hour out of every 24. Those who don’t are automatically Fatigued each day until they are Incapacitated. The day after that, they perish.
    • Fast Swimmer (Racial): Swimming Pace 12
    • Low Light Vision (Racial): The being ignores penalties for Dim or Dark lighting (but not Pitch Darkness).
    • No Legs (Racial): You have no legs, without assistance your pace is 3 and you cannot run.
    • Scales (Racial): The species has a thick hide or is encrusted in solid material like scaly plating or even rock. This grants Armor +2 each time it’s taken.
